Special guided tour: documenta archiv meets Fridericianum

The documenta archiv and the Fridericianum invite you to a reunion: After more than three decades, Charles Ray and his works return to the spaces of the Fridericianum. His sculpture Oh! Charley, Charley, Charley… was created in 1992 for documenta 9 and can now be viewed once again at the Fridericianum—in almost the same spot—on the occasion of the artist’s exhibition in Kassel. During a brief tour of the current exhibition, participants explore questions of artistic, social, and personal temporality and change—specifically, how the artist’s work has evolved since then and what influence the time between the two exhibitions has had on the reception of the work.
In the second part of the event, the group heads to the documenta archiv to explore the documenta artist’s past.
