!CANCELED! Concert: Song recital Swan Song in cooperation with the Staatstheater Kassel

The Staatstheater Kassel and the Fridericianum invite you to another special musical experience provided by the baritone Filippo Bettoschi and pianist Min Ren, dedicating their performance to Franz Schubert’s last major work, the song cycle Schwanengesang, among others.

Filippo Bettoschi began his singing studies in 1995 while studying Modern Languages and Literature at the University of Genoa. From 1999 to 2007 he took lessons from Australian soprano Margaret Baker-Genovesi in Rom and from 2006 from Prof. Roland Hermann in Zurich, to round off his technique and repertoire. In addition to his extensive guest performances at different operas, Bettoschi established his name in the concert discipline as well. The highlights of his artistic career include the bass performance at the Johannes-Passion (Milan). Since the season 2021/22, he is part of the Staatstheater Kassel ensemble and most recently performed as Escamillo in the production Carmen or as the main protagonist in Don Giovanni. His numerous song recitals include Schubert’s Die Schöne Müllerin, Brahm’s Vier Ernste Gesänge, Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Shakespeare Sonnets, and Schumann’s Dichterliebe.

Min Ren was born in China and studied Musical Theatre Accompaniment – Conducting/Correpetition under Prof. Karl-Heinz Knobloch as well as Piano under Prof. Gunther Anger at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden. During her studies, she played as solo repetiteur at the Eduard-Winterstein-Theater in Annaberg-Buchholz, the Mittelsächsisches Theater in Freiberg, and the Landesbühnen Sachsen in Radebeul. From 2014 to 2021 she worked as solo repetiteur with conducting duties at the Stadttheater Bremerhaven, the Staatstheater Braunschweig, and the Theater Münster. In 2017 she accompanied the master class and closing concert of KS Brigitte Fassbaender. In 2018 she conducted within the performances of Kurt Weill and Ernst Krenek with the Staatsorchester Braunschweig. Numerous opera and instrumental concerts as well as song recitals lead her to Germany, Austria, and China. In 2018 she was invited by the East China Normal University to host a singing and vocal correpetition workshop of several days. She works as a lecturer at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover and performes as a guest repetiteur at the Staatstheater Kassel since 2021.
