International Museum Day

Sunday, May 19, 2024, 11 am – 6 pm

On International Museum Day, museums all over the world invite you to their exhibition spaces – with free admission and a special program for everyone. The Fridericianum is excited to offer opportunities to get creative and learn interesting background information on the current exhibition OUTSIDE / INSIDE by Swedish artist Ulla Wiggen – including the popular iris buttons for children and adults!

Short guided tours through the exhibition
11.30 am–12 pm: Ulla Wiggen and people
1.30–2 pm: Ulla Wiggen and electronics
3.30–4 pm: Ulla Wiggen and human organs
For adults. No registration required.

Creative workshop station
2–4 pm
Together with the art education team and inspired by the work of artist Ulla Wiggen participants of every age get to design their own buttons.
For children aged 5 upwards and adults. No registration required.

Puzzle book
Available 11 am–6 pm at the ticket desk

The art of Ulla Wiggen can be explored particularly well with small tasks and puzzles, for there is so much to discover: computers, people, landscapes, human organs and even the iris of the eye! Afterwards, every participant is invited to pick up their very own museum explorer diploma.
Ideal age: 6–12. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

International Museum Day is being coordinated by Deutscher Museumsbund in cooperation with ICOM Germany and the federal museum associations and offices.
Admission is free for everyone all day. No registration required.
Note: There will be no regular guided tours on this day.
