INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY

Sunday, May 21, 2023, 11 am – 6 pm

International Museum Day sees museums throughout the world throw open their doors to the public—with free admission and a special program for everyone. To mark this occasion, the Fridericianum is delighted to present culinary offerings, guided tours and workshops. The last one in cooperation with Kassel City Library.

11 am – 6 pm Inauguration of the new MIMIKRY Library in Kerstin Brätsch’s installation, featuring books on everything the world has to discover. There will be reading corners and delicious food and drinks.
The miniature library in the café is by and for children! Amidst dinosaurs, fossils, colorful paintings, and sculptures, the artist Kerstin Brätsch invites us to fantasize, dream, discover, and research. To help make this even more successful, the Fridericianum together with Kassel City Library is collecting your favorite children’s books to add to the café’s book collection. Requests can be submitted to education@fridericianum.org! For that we need the following information: Title of the book, Author, your name and age, what language the book should be in.
