On Predictability and Coincidences in the Work of Tauba Auerbach

Lecture by Luise von Nobbe (Curatorial Department, Fridericianum)

This lecture centers on characteristics and recent developments in Tauba Auerbach’s work. It addresses how conceptual approaches and strict construction principles come up against the idiosyncrasy of materials and the subjectivity of the artistic gesture in various groups of works. Under consultation of earlier works, the work groups Spontaneous Lace (2023), Grain (2017-), and Ligature (2016-) among others will be discussed.
