Electric circuits are closed systems. Similar to musical partitures they offer insights into the arrangement of singular components and their interrelations. Notations of movement, also known as scores, are being utilized by dancers and choreographers to temporally and spatially structure sequences of movement. The participants of the workshop get to know functionalities of scores and create a new one based on one of Ulla Wiggen’s circuit boards, and then develop a performance that is linked to the original work. How can the singular components be transferred from a canvas into the body? And how can paintings of electric cuircits be re-read, re-interpreted and translated into motion?
Art educator and artist Lara Pigorsch introduces the participants to Ulla Wiggen’s depictions of electronic components, sharpens their awareness with the help of mindfulness exercises, and guides through the collective creative work.
Lara Pigorsch completed her training as a certified contemporary stage dancer and then studied art, music, and media sciences at the Philipps-Universität Marburg. She studies visual arts at the Kunsthochschule Kassel in Mounira Al Solh’s performance class. Since 2023 she works as an assistant in the education and mediation department at Fridericianum.
For participants aged 14 and upwards. Admission is free. Comfortable clothing is recommended.
