INTERIOR SPACE

The café at the Fridericianum owes its unique design to the site-specific intervention MIMIKRY by Kerstin Brätsch. The artist developed the installation especially for the rotunda in the center of the Kunsthalle. It directly follows the café designs that Brätsch realized for the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2019 as well as the LUMA Foundation in Arles in 2021. The colorful tables, curtains, and wallpapers depicting dinosaurs speak not only to the little ones, but also to grown-up art lovers. Kids can also cozy up in the dino reading nook.

More information about Kerstin Brätsch’s installation can be found here.

SUN TERRACE

During the summer months, the exterior spaces under the portico and in front of the building provide additional cozy seating areas. The central location allows for a panoramic view of the colorful hustle and bustle of the Friedrichsplatz.

MENU

The certified organic café at the Fridericianum values high quality for its range of beverages and snacks. The popular café specialties made with a portafilter espresso machine, and many other hot and cold drinks, are freshly prepared; non-dairy milk is available on request. The regularly changing offerings of pies (vegan) and quiches (vegetarian) are purchased from local bakeries.
